F1 Sheepadoodle in Mississippi
Mississippi has a hot, humid climate across much of the state. An F1 coat can be looser and less dense than later generations, but it still sheds and holds heat, so keep it trimmed and brushed.
Coat and grooming in Mississippi
Keep the coat clipped shorter through the long warm season. Dense curls trap heat and damp, so dry the coat fully after swimming or rain to avoid hot spots and matting. Varies the most of any generation. Coats range from loose waves to tight curls, and shedding is not reliably low. Our Sheepadoodle grooming guide covers tools and routines.
Exercise and daily life
F1 Sheepadoodles need about 60 minutes of activity a day. Walk early morning or after sunset, and keep midday play indoors or in shade with fresh water close by.
Seasonal risks to plan for
Heat stress, and a longer flea and tick season. Ask your Mississippi veterinarian about parasite prevention timed to your local season.
