Sheepadoodle adoption process and pricing
Knowing how a legitimate puppy sale works is the best protection against scams. Here is the usual path, and how families can start a conversation with Kayla's Sheepadoodles.
The usual steps
- Inquiry: you share your home, experience and what you want.
- Conversation or video call with the breeder.
- Application and screening.
- Written contract and a deposit.
- Pickup or delivery, with records and health information.
What pricing should include
Ask for a written breakdown. Typical items are the puppy, first vaccinations, deworming, a veterinary exam, microchipping and the health guarantee. Prices vary widely by breeder and region, so compare what is included rather than the headline number.
Puppy scam warning signs
- The seller will not video call or let you see the puppy and parents.
- They ask for gift cards, wire transfers or payment apps before you have seen anything.
- They pressure you to pay immediately.
- The price is far below the market and there is no contract.
Verify before you pay
Search the seller's name and phone number, ask for references from past buyers, and report suspected fraud to the FTC. Our puppy buying guide has more detail.
